EGaming Review Magazine announced the nominees for the coveted 2009 Operator of the Year trophy, which will be awarded at the gala dinner of the EGR Awards 2009, at Old Billingsgate Market in London on the 30th of November.
The nominees are: Bet365, Betclic, Betfair, Bwin, PartyGaming, William Hill and 888!

Betfair came the third in this year's Power 50 leading operators. It has a dominant position on the betting exchange market and it counts a database of almost 2.5 million users. 625,000 users, from the total of 2.5 million, were active in the last 12 months.

Bwin topped this year's Power 50 leading operators and it was nominated for its 17% growth in gross gaming revenue over the last 12 months. It is recognized for its founding roles in the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) and European Sports Security Association (ESSA). Bwin is a leader in expanding presence in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Bet365 is nominated for its marketing leading position and for its customer base in more than 200 countries. It has managed to achieve revenue of 70% from outside its home market with important customer bases in Canada, Europe and Asia.

Betclick is the market leader in France, but it also occupies a strong position in Central and Southern Europe and now it is concentrating on Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

PartyGaming is the only major operator which settled with the US authorities.

888 launched poker games in 11 new languages over the last year and it had an increase of 246,000 new depositors. 888 also introduces a live dealer application.

William Hill Online is nominated for offering its products in 19 languages and for receiving transactions from 180 countries.

The winner of the Operator of the Year trophy will be announced at the EGR Awards gala dinner ceremony, which will take place in London, at the Old Billingsgate Market, on the 30th of November. The awards will be judged quantitatively and qualitatively and it will reward progress, growth and genuine innovation.
