ARJEL Suspends Full Tilt's French Licence
07/07/2011, Online poker
The French gaming regulator ARJEL has decided to temporarily suspend the Full Tilt Poker's gambling licence. ARJEL's decision came as a result of Full Tilt's inability to provide players with the opportunity of reaching the website for real money play. Since losing their licence from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, Full Tilt Poker has been unavailable to players from all around the world, who were no longer able to deposit or withdraw money from their accounts. In a statement released on its website, ARJEL said the Full Tilt's French licence holder, Rekop Limited, was suspended as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, Full Tilt Poker needs to seek additional financial guarantees to continue operating. Last week, a group of unnamed European investors had expressed their intention of purchasing Full Tilt Poker. Financial analysts think a new investment would help the online poker operator to repay the American players and reopen the website, after the Black Friday events of April 15th. It seems like the company's financial resources are insufficient to pay them for the moment. The French gaming regulatory authority ARJEL has requested Full Tilt Poker to cooperate with the authorities in order to restore access to the French website. |
